Searching for the Elixir of youth

Gilgamesh 1

Cells are (chemical) factories producing biological goods to maintain a functioning biological/physiological system. Stem cells are machine tools that renew themselves and produce other cells (the biological factories maintaining a stable physiological state). If we had no stem cells our cellular factories similar to industrial manufacturing would age leading to breakdowns and ultimately closure, which in biological terms is aging and death.  Thus stem cells renew other cells. The birth of younger, healthier cells keeps the biological gears in order. As we age our stem cell load decreases and the renewal process stops. Our resident cells start aging and our stable biological system starts to suffer. This can be seen with a simple blood test.

Blood tests measure various parameter of physiological function. Such as immunity, kidney and liver function etc. During Youth these indicators are stable and we are in homeostatic balance, because our cells the producers of these chemicals in our blood are healthy and responsive to both our macro and micro environment and also to other cells. However as we lose the ability to renew our cells, our resident cells undergo a natural aging process and stop being as responsive and we can see this again in a simple blood test. For example in youth the cholesterol which was 100 is now 250. Blood sugar which in youth was 70 is now 140. Uric acid, which in youth was 3.5 is now 7, and so on. If we can renew our cells by keeping our machine making cells (stem cells) healthy we can slow down the aging process if not stop it.

At Ensafco we have developed such an elexir. We called it Restem. Restem is defined as going against a current. In this case the current is entropy. The most powerful current in the universe. All things are moving towards it. Life is a tiny ephemeral force resisting the colossal storm of entropy. Aging is an entropic force. We at Ensafco have developed restem as a small effort to help life resist this powerful entropic force. Restem also stands for and is derived from Reset system. It is also directly involved in re-charging the bodies batteries (stem cells). So inherent in the word restem are multiple levels of connotation. Restem today is being marketed as a luxury item by our sister company Ensafco Novel Helath Products, USA. In the future our company hopes to provide restem to the general public for a nominal fee. That day is coming soon but we are not yet capable financially or production-wise to provide restem for all, which is the ultimate goal of EnsafCo.

Disease Processes

In the last several hundred years there has been a major demographic shift in human disease. Whereas in the past humans died of infections and infectious diseases, in the modern world this has shifted towards inflammatory diseases  represented by cancer and heart disease. This can be clearly seen in the graph below. At Ensafco we are developing new paradigms of disease processes by attempting to unify and consolidate our understanding of the disease process. We believe that disease processes in general have to enter a limited number of genetic/physiological doorways to become a full fledged and pathological process. By unifying the theory of disease progression we hope to be able to develop a smart and efficient approach to modern medicine and disease. In the past, penicillin served as the unifying mechanism in combating infectious disease. We hope to develop such a universal approach to combat all modern diseases.

One doorway which we have studied and has yielded an effective homeostatic regulator is the doorway of stem cell health. Stem cell as discussed above are the engines of regeneration in the body. By understanding how they work and how to keep them functioning properly can lead us into a horizon of youth not age. Restem is such an effort towards that goal.
